Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot. In simple terms, this means that Moonbeam is a parachain that is directly connected to Polkadot network. What Moonbeam does is to make it easy for developers to launch their own parachain with minimal fees, time and resources on the Polkadot platform

Anyone can leverage on the moonbeam parachain to build their multi-chain applications. It doesn’t end there, developers will also have a smooth upgrade path from a Moonbeam smart contract/DApp to becoming a FULL AND INDEPENDENT parachain or parathread.

You may wonder how Moonbeam is able to provide such huge support on it own. The explanation to this is simple- Polkadot Relay Chain has some sort of crowdfunding functionality built into it, this gives Moonbeam a parachain a slot because it is part of the Polkadot system.

Diving into the security aspect of it, Moonbeam is extremely secured as it shares in the security mechanism that Polkadot has and it’s connection with the other chains. You see, no loopholes at all. I feel this is one project every developer should look up to because there is so much more coming in 2021.

The recognized Moonbean’s native token is Glimber with a ticker GLMR. It will underpin all transaction on Moonbeam platform.
