My Dear Teddy

Apparently we both decided to break our long silence at the same time. And as your letter arrived Tues. guess I’d better be for answering it.

I can’t say that I’m exactly thrilled at the results of my ardent wooing. Really must have lost the old swoon technique during my not so brief stretch in the army. However at least there was a reaction and that was the purpose — now the problem is to bring the future reaction into line with what I desire! Just exactly (and I’m seeking advice Miss Cupid) would you recommend…

As for the T.L.* am afraid that subtlety (hope that’s spelled right) goes over your head — around you or something. Just exactly what did you receive in the next letter after I promised to comply with the provisions of the TL.* Right!!! Pictures of you. So now I have to go to work all over again and think of some way to circumvent the rules. That is of course unless you’ll accept one of my mother’s numerous compliments. Just that she believes you to be as fine a girl speaker (for clarity, organization, voice control, etc.) as she’s ever heard! A real talent she says!

Oh yes, those pictures are here in the letter as you have undoubtedly seen. No I don’t do my own work — but plan to soon. Soon as the market will permit me to buy an enlarger.

Now what is the best way to prevail upon a pretty girl to send a picture. Can’t remember what the Wolf’s Guide or such a procedure says.

Of course you know that I can remember every detail of your face and figure without a picture but still other people might want to know what makes me act so crazily. So as a matter of explanation a picture of your ever lovely face might help —

About my visit to your parts (with your permission of course!) it’ll have to be a Sunday or Mondays as that is now my day off! So how’s about a week from this Sunday July 14th to date. OK —
