will not save you. His words are not a bandage for your cuts, or a rope for you to hold onto. His words are empty; clichés said purely because he didn’t know what else to say.

does not love you. He kisses you just because he wants someone to kiss, and “I love you” is code for, “I don’t want to be alone.” He does not want to marry you. It was fantasy.

The boy with brown eyes,
is not going to stay forever. He will change his mind about leaving you just to string you along for a month more while thinking about how cute that other girl is. For him, forever is not infinite.

The boy with brown eyes,
will not want you back. He will just want someone to talk to for the summer. When the season ends, so will any talk of reconciliation. He will cut you off again like you are nothing.

The boy with brown eyes,
Will not save you.
Does not love you.
Is not going to stay forever.
Will not want you back.
Does not deserve you.
