The Goals of Karuna Platform

Every sector has a traditional problem of its own. And over the years, new innovations have been attempting to solve them — one after another.

When banking was conducted at actual brick-and-mortar institutions, a small test in 1983, conducted by Bank of Scotland, paved the way to what we know today as internet banking. In the early 1900s, Gertie the dinosaur, the history’s first animated film, was made using single-frame methods. 100 years later, a dino-movie called Jurassic World used CGI to bring real-world special effects onto the screen.

Technology finds a way.

At Karuna Network, we are not trying to re-revamp internet banking, nor are we creating the mind-blowing special effects for the next Jurassic World. But, in our own way, we are trying to solve a sector’s traditional problem/limitation, however small or minuscule it might appear

And these headlines will keep appearing, until a proper and concrete measure is introduced to curb charity frauds.

In January 2018, we released the whitepaper of our Karuna platform in which we discussed the immense possibilities of reducing charity frauds. Our proposal is about addressing the depreciating donors’ confidence in the $2 trillion nonprofit market. Here is what a brief sum-up of what we’re trying to achieve.

Developing Karuna is not a rocket science. We already have working modules available — some open-source, and some proprietary — that can be integrated together to deliver a working platform for nonprofits and donors alike.

Here is what we can achieve after the successful deployment of Karuna platform:

Encourage social and noble cause in society: By introducing a transparent donation routing mechanism, donors will be able to know where their funds are being utilized. This will encourage them to trust nonprofits, which will further increase their confidence in nonprofit initiatives.

Similarly, our overall focus is on utilizing the new technologies for eliminating poverty, creating employment opportunities, and for addressing the safety, security, and well-being of society.

After all, new innovations solve the old problems. Karuna is an innovation.
